ACIES Ventures Nanjing Exchange Event Recap

The 13th Nanjing International Overseas Talent Exchange’s Asia Division, organised by the Nanjing Municipal People’s Government, was successfully held from 16 and 17 June 2021. The exchange event is one of the only few regional talent exchange platforms which has garnered a great amount of support and influence in its surrounding cities and abroad. In view of the control measures in place amid the pandemic, the exchange adopted a hybrid mode this year, conducting conferences both online and offline.

The theme for this year’s conference is “宁聚海智英才共圆创新梦想 Realizing innovation dreams”. The event is packed with conferences, exhibition booths and displays focused on the industrial development, technological innovation and talent acquisition demand in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta and Nanjing Metropolitan Area. The conference also looks deeper into topics of internationalization, integration and specialization.

This year, the Singapore Division of the exchange conference was glad to invite 3 local experts, Edmond Wong of Kim Choo Kueh Chang, Douglas Gan of Ezsy, and Jeffrey Wong of YCH Group to review the pitches of the 10 out of 130 startups, who worked their pitch to the audience of the Nanjing government and various business leaders.

During the event, the experts engaged these potential startups with valuable insights and pointers to the startups’ business model to technology development.

Talent acquisition is one of the key foundations for innovation. With the accelerated development of regional integration in the Yangtze River Delta, there will be an exponential increase in the exchanges and collaboration opportunities in the area. These collaborations bring brilliant ideas from local and overseas talents together.

To date, the conference has attracted more than 2,000 high-level professionals locally and overseas each year, bringing in more than 6,000 domestic and overseas talents from many different institutions and enterprises. The conference has also successfully launched and established collaborations for more than 2,300 technical projects.

“A platform where startups can showcase their innovations is important. ACIES Ventures will continue to bring about global platforms for entrepreneurs to gain useful exposure such that they can increase their chances to acquire the investments, resources and guidance that they need to grow their budding businesses and establish valuable partnerships to propel their startup development,” said Yvonne Wong, CMO of ACIES Ventures.
